Sullivan’s Legacy Call For New Republican Leadership

Sullivan County, New York:   Sullivan’s Legacy calls for new leadership in the Sullivan County Republican Committee, citing years of failed stewardship under Chairman Greg Goldstein that has left the Republican Party divided, candidates abandoned, and taxpayers burdened with costs of political games.

“Republicans in Sullivan County deserve leadership rooted in honor, integrity, and selfless service,” said Nate Henderson, founder of Sullivan’s Legacy. “Instead, we’ve endured defeat after defeat, while our chairman openly bragged to WJFF that it was ‘good’ to lose a legislative super majority because he could work with Democrats. That is not leadership, that’s surrendering conservative values for a cheap seat at the table.”

Under Goldstein’s chairmanship:

  • The Republican Party has lost nearly every major county-wide election.

  • Sullivan County was dragged through the dirtiest Republican primary in years under his watch.

  • Republicans lost three legislative seats in a single election, sacrificing a super majority to the Democrat minority party, and leaving voters with a 12% tax increase hike.

  • Legislative candidates like Terry Bernardo, George Conklin, Robert Doherty, and Mike Brooks were abandoned by their own party and left to fend for themselves during their races.

  • Newly elected party leadership were denied participation in county meetings.

  • The Sullivan County Young Republicans have been blacklisted from meetings since 2022, blocking the next generation of conservative voices.

“These failures didn’t happen because Democrats out-worked us,” Henderson continued. “They happened because the party enabled a culture of self-sabotage, where Republican leadership refused to fight for our candidates. Now every Republican and every taxpayer in the county is paying the price.”

Sullivan’s Legacy was founded to fill the void and defend the conservative values Republicans deserve. The cure for this dysfunction is reorganization on September 30th, when Republicans have the chance to return the party to its rightful owners by electing new leadership.
